Event Description:
Talk with the Doc - Vision and Success!
Research shows that as many as one in four (25%) children in any classroom have vision problems that affect their ability to read, to learn, to comprehend, and even to focus and pay attention, keeping them from attaining their highest level of success in school, sports, and life.
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn about these vision problems and how to recognize behaviors that children with these visual difficulties display. You will also have an opportunity to ask the doctor questions, and meet and network with other parents and professionals that have children with these visual challenges, as well as meet and socialize with others and in the Gretna community.
Dr. Cathleen Roark is a Developmental Optometrist at Eyeconic Vision in Gretna that has a special emphasis in pediatric vision development for school aged children.
The doctor's talk will last from approximately 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM, with demos, Q & A, networking, and socializing to follow. Beer, wine, snacks, and other non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by Eyeconic Vision.
